Purpose of this website is to distribute information to you, updating you on Current Cry-Slur activities as well as status of John C. Platt Northwest Classen Vocal Music Scholarship Endowment.

The Reunion
Reunion was held September 2009 with over 300 attending from all over the United States. Photos are available at the Shutterfly site. Thank you to all who participated, celebrating friendships, memories, and our current journeys.

Scholarship Fund from Cry-Slur Alumnae and Parents
Through your generous support and donations for the September 5, 2009 Cry-Slur Reunion there was $3,000 remaining after paying all reunion expenses. With much prayer and consideration, we decided to use the $3,000 to begin an endowment for The John C. Platt Northwest Classen Cry-Slurs Scholarship Fund.

After reviewing several other foundations The Oklahoma City Community Foundation (OCCF), a 501(c)(3) public charity, was the most affordable (endowment being a minimum of $20,000 to begin disbursing funds) and allowing to meet the $20,000 threshold by end of 2012. As you can see with the $3,000 deposited with OCCF there is a need, over the next two years, to meet the remaining $17,000 in order to establish the annual $1,000 scholarship to be awarded to a deserving Cry-Slur senior desiring to study music in an Oklahoma institution of higher learning.

You can go to the website www.occf.org to learn more about this incredible foundation although until the endowment is fully funded (reaching $20,000.00 required goal) the endowment will not be listed.

Any donations, or memorial gifts, must be marked as to the intent of your gift in the MEMO section of your check stating "The John C. Platt Northwest Classen Cry-Slurs Scholarship Fund," and enclose a note stating who the gift is from, if it is honoring someone, address to send back confirmation that is was received, and sent to:

DVDs
A video of the reunion, inclusive of the photo presentation, video of '85, '99, some Penn Square Mall performances, and more, is being made. The cost is $10.
